Award-winning, internationally acclaimed and still only 8 years old — this is the story behind one of Malta's brightest young voices.
At just 8 years old, Audrey Schembri has already established herself as a formidable talent in the international music scene. Hailing from the island of Gozo, Malta, Audrey's connection to music began almost as soon as she could speak. While her formal vocal training started at the age of four, her true passion blossomed even earlier; by age two, she was already found "performing" for her dolls and toys, turning every playtime into a musical rehearsal. Today, she is recognised for a powerful, emotive vocal range and a stage presence that radiates passion and dedication far beyond her years.
Whether on an international competition stage or a concert hall back home in Malta, Audrey performs with a maturity and warmth well beyond her age. For her, every song is a chance to share her love of music - and to show other young performers just how far a dream can take them.
Audrey's artistic development is centred at La Voix Studios, where she trains under the direction of Ms Gillian Attard. To support her growing international profile, she works with international manager Ms Evelina Batey, who facilitates exciting opportunities for Audrey to showcase her talent on stages across the globe.
Abroad
Audrey views music as a passport to the world, finding immense joy in discovering new cultures while sharing her talent with global audiences. Her competitive journey has taken her across Europe, where she has secured top honours and represented Malta with distinction in 14 countries:
A significant milestone in her 2026 season was her selection as the Maltese Ambassador at the Angel Voice Budva festival in Montenegro, where she was honoured with an Award of Excellence and showcased her artistry on an international platform.
At Home
For all her travels, Audrey is just as active on Malta and Gozo's own stages, where she regularly competes - and shines - among the islands' finest young voices. Her 2025 season at home brought a remarkable run of top honours:
On Stage
Beyond the competition circuit, Audrey is a versatile entertainer who thrives in both musical theatre and large-scale productions.
She has showcased her theatrical and vocal range in Puccini's Turandot at the Astra Theatre in Gozo - alongside the Classique Children's Chorus and the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra - as well as Disney's The Little Mermaid Jr. (2025) and the 2026 productions of Disney's Alice in Wonderland Jr. and Junior Pops, all with Chorus Urbanus Productions.
As a member of the La Voix Harmonies choir, she has contributed to high-profile projects such as the Celine Dion Tribute Show, YADA Dance Company's DIVA II, and the TV programme Brillanti Singers 2024. Her repertoire further includes performances at major national milestones, including 50 Sena Malta Repubblika, the Rigal b'Imħabba launch, and Il-Kunċert tal-Milied - a grand concert celebrating the 50th anniversary of Chorus Urbanus, held under the distinguished patronage of H.E. Dr Myriam Spiteri Debono, President of Malta.
For Audrey, every journey is an opportunity to learn, and every song is a new story to tell. As she continues to develop her gift and study her craft, her goal remains simple: to share her passion for music and her love for performance with the world, one stage at a time.
